The Role We're looking for a Driver Recruiter & Retention Specialist to find great CDL drivers, get them on the road smoothly, and keep them with us. You'll own the full driver journey, from first contact through onboarding and the relationship after hire, and you'll be measured on drivers who stay, not just drivers hired. Pay: $70,000–$85,000 (base + performance bonuses) What You'll Do Recruiting Source CDL-A company drivers and owner-operators through job boards, social media and Meta ads, driver referrals, driving schools, and industry networks Partner with our Marketing team to develop recruiting and marketing strategies, including ad campaigns, messaging, and employer branding that attract the right drivers Respond quickly to every lead; conduct phone screens and interviews Give candidates an honest picture of our pay, lanes, home time, and equipment Verify qualifications: MVR, PSP, FMCSA Clearinghouse, employment history, and DOT medical card Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified drivers ahead of hiring needs Onboarding Coordinate pre-employment steps: drug testing, DOT physicals, background checks, and paperwork Build and maintain complete, audit-ready driver qualification (DQ) files Work with Marketing and Safety to build a more streamlined, engaging orientation experience, from pre-arrival communication through training materials and day-one logistics Schedule and run new-hire orientation with dispatch, safety, and the shop Make sure every new driver knows their dispatcher, truck, ELD, and first load before day one Retention & Driver Satisfaction Check in with every new driver at 15, 30, and 90 days, and regularly after that Serve as a go-to contact for driver concerns; route issues to dispatch, payroll, or the shop and follow through until resolved Run driver surveys and exit interviews; report trends to leadership monthly Help run the driver referral program and driver recognition events Track why drivers leave and recommend improvements to pay, policies, or operations What You Bring Required 1+ year of CDL driver recruiting, OR 2+ years in a driver-facing trucking role (dispatch, driver manager, safety) Working knowledge of FMCSA driver qualification rules (MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, DQ files) Strong phone and follow-up habits; comfortable with a high volume of calls and texts Organized and detail-oriented with paperwork and deadlines Comfortable with an applicant tracking system and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Preferred Prior experience as a CDL-A driver Fluency in Russian or Ukrainian in addition to English Experience with Tenstreet (or a similar driver ATS) and Samsara Experience running Facebook or Indeed recruiting campaigns Comfortable collaborating with marketing on campaigns, content, or recruiting messaging Your First 90 Days Days 1–30: Learn our lanes, pay plans, equipment, and hiring standards; ride along with dispatch; audit current DQ files; meet with Marketing and Safety to review current recruiting campaigns and orientation Days 31–60: Own the lead pipeline and orientation schedule; start 15/30/90-day check-ins with all recent hires Days 61–90: Deliver your first monthly report on hiring, retention, and driver feedback, including recommendations for recruiting strategy and orientation improvements How We Measure Success Qualified drivers hired per month Time from application to first dispatch Orientation show rate DQ file accuracy (target: 100%) 90-day retention of new hires, by recruiting source Overall dri…
