Role Description The Driver Recruiter is a full-time, on-site role based in Chattanooga, TN, responsible for attracting, screening, and hiring qualified professional drivers in alignment with Covenant’s staffing needs and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing candidates through multiple channels, conducting interviews, assessing qualifications, and coordinating pre-employment processes such as background checks and compliance verifications. The role actively supports driver retention efforts by maintaining strong relationships with drivers, addressing concerns, and collaborating with operations and safety teams to improve the driver experience. The Driver Recruiter also ensures recruitment practices align with DOT and company policies, maintains accurate candidate records in recruiting systems, and contributes to continuous improvement of hiring strategies. Qualifications Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT Regulations and compliance requirements related to commercial drivers. Candidates should possess skills in Hiring, including sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating driver qualifications. Candidates should possess abilities in Driver Retention, such as relationship-building and supporting engagement initiatives. Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with diverse audiences. Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide a positive experience for driver candidates and internal stakeholders. Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in transportation or logistics recruiting, familiarity with applicant tracking systems, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is preferred.
