Driver Manager

The Driver Manager is responsible for managing a fleet of professional drivers while helping maximize driver productivity, service performance, safety, and retention. This position serves as the primary point of contact for assigned drivers and works closely with Operations, Customer Service, Safety, and other departments to keep our drivers and freight moving. Responsibilities Driver Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and support an assigned fleet of professional drivers Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers throughout their daily operations Monitor driver availability, hours of service, home time, and load assignments Communicate load information, appointment times, routing, and operational expectations to drivers Monitor assigned loads and proactively address potential service issues Work with Operations and Customer Service to help ensure on-time pickup and delivery Assist drivers with operational concerns, equipment issues, breakdowns, and other needs Build strong working relationships with drivers through consistent communication and follow-up Coach drivers regarding productivity, communication, service expectations, and company policies Monitor driver performance and address concerns when necessary Coordinate driver home time and help manage expectations while maintaining operational needs Maintain accurate notes and documentation within company systems Assist with driver retention by identifying concerns and working toward solutions before issues escalate Communicate effectively with other departments regarding driver and load-related issues Support company safety, service, and operational goals Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualified candidates should possess: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required Associate degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred Previous experience in trucking, transportation, dispatch, fleet management, or logistics preferred Previous experience working directly with professional truck drivers strongly preferred Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple drivers, loads, and priorities simultaneously Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced transportation environment Basic understanding of DOT regulations and Hours of Service General knowledge of trucking operations, freight movement, and driver management Proficiency with transportation management, dispatch, and computer systems or the ability to learn quickly Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service skills Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team This is an on-site position in Irving, Texas.
