Driver helper

Job Overview As a Driver Helper, you’ll work alongside a driver to prepare, transport, and deliver goods safely and efficiently. You’ll help load and unload items, support route driving, and provide courteous customer service at delivery locations. This active role suits someone comfortable with physical work, changing routes, and working as part of a delivery team. Responsibilities Load and unload goods, organize cargo, and help secure items for transport. Assist with deliveries by following the driver’s route and using mobile devices to confirm delivery details. Use safe lifting practices when moving heavy items; follow workplace weight-handling procedures. Operate a pallet jack or other material-handling equipment when trained and authorized. Follow traffic regulations and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements; communicate professionally with customers. Skills Essential: Safe driving awareness, customer service, manual handling, moving and heavy lifting, and the ability to load and unload goods. Relevant experience: Delivery driver, delivery driving, courier, van driver, warehouse experience, and warehouse operations. Preferred: Commercial driving or commercial truck driving, box truck, personal vehicle delivery, route driving, and manual transmission experience. Familiarity with pallet jacks, material-handling equipment operation, mobile devices, and workplace weight-handling practices is helpful. Follow DOT regulations when applicable to assigned duties.
