Job Summary As a Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably between pickup and delivery locations. You’ll plan routes with GPS navigation, complete delivery driving assignments, and handle cargo according to its type and transport requirements. Routes may include over-the-road (OTR) driving and operation of tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, depending on the assignment. Your impact: Safe, timely deliveries help customers receive their freight in good condition and keep supply chains moving. Responsibilities Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers on local and OTR routes, following assigned schedules and route plans. Use GPS navigation and route-driving knowledge to select and follow appropriate roads; report delays, hazards, or vehicle concerns promptly. Inspect vehicles and secure freight before travel; complete truck loading and unloading and other manual handling as required. Transport cargo such as automobile shipments, general freight, or dangerous goods only when qualified and assigned; follow applicable handling procedures. Maintain required trip, delivery, and vehicle records, and comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and hazardous materials regulations. Qualifications Required: Valid commercial driver’s license and qualifications for the assigned vehicle and cargo; ability to drive a manual transmission where required. Required: Safe commercial truck driving and delivery driving practices, including load securement and physical ability to load or unload freight as assigned. Preferred: Delivery driver experience and familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation. Preferred: Hazmat (hazardous materials) qualifications and experience handling regulated cargo; knowledge of freight logistics and cargo handling.
