Driver and Logistics Specialist
DriveShopCompensation: $21/hour We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Driver and Logistics Professional to support vehicle movements to automotive media, vehicle inspections, software updates, and vehicle feature communication for automotive programs. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable around vehicles, understands basic service department procedures, enjoys troubleshooting, and can clearly communicate vehicle features and issues to both internal teams and third-party partners. Position Type Part-time preferred, with an estimated 20-30 hours/week. Compensation is limited to hourly pay only, and no additional benefits are offered with this position. Candidate must complete and pass a background check and drug test. Key Responsibilities Drive vehicles safely and responsibly for local and long-distance activations, testing, staging, and program support. Perform basic vehicle inspections and document vehicle condition, mileage, damage, warning lights, tire condition, cleanliness, and other relevant items. Assist with vehicle software updates, including initiating updates, monitoring progress, troubleshooting basic issues, and documenting completion status. Communicate vehicle features, technology, and operational notes to third-party partners. Identify and report vehicle concerns, mechanical issues, diagnostic warnings, or operational irregularities. Maintain accurate records related to vehicle status, inspections, updates, movements, and readiness. Support vehicle prep, staging, charging/fueling, and general fleet readiness. Safely handle basic vehicle support tasks, which may include removing or disconnecting 12V power when appropriate, using a floor jack, and assisting with minor operational troubleshooting. Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older. Valid Class C driver’s license and clean driving record. Comfortable driving a wide variety of vehicles, including manual transmission vehicles. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. Comfortable using technology, mobile apps and vehicle infotainment systems. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, vendors, and internal team members. Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working around vehicles. Ability to safely use a floor jack and comfortable disconnecting or removing 12V power when needed. Prior experience in a dealership service department, automotive technician role, fleet operations, vehicle logistics, or automotive events is strongly preferred. EV, hybrid, connected vehicle, or manufacturer software update experience is a plus. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a practical, technically minded automotive person who can bridge the gap between vehicle operations and light technical support. This person does not necessarily need to be a certified technician, but should be confident around modern vehicles, comfortable troubleshooting, and capable of explaining vehicle features clearly to others. Work Environment This position may involve time in a warehouse, office, parking lot, client site, or event location. The role may require local and long distance driving, standing, walking, lifting, vehicle staging, and working around active vehicle operations.
