Driver

Overview As a Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably across local and over-the-road (OTR) routes. You’ll operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers, use GPS navigation to follow routes, and handle cargo with care. Depending on the assignment, equipment may include refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers. Your impact: Safe, timely deliveries help customers receive their freight in good condition and keep supply chains moving. Responsibilities Drive commercial vehicles on delivery and route-driving assignments, including OTR routes. Load, unload, and secure freight; perform manual handling and logistics cargo handling as needed. Use GPS navigation and follow assigned routes, delivery instructions, and applicable automobile transportation procedures. Inspect and operate equipment, including manual-transmission vehicles, and report safety or cargo concerns. Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, plus hazardous materials and dangerous goods requirements when applicable. Qualifications Required: Valid commercial driving credentials appropriate to the vehicle and assignment, and the ability to meet applicable driving and safety requirements. Required: Safe truck-driving skills, including commercial truck driving, delivery driving, and tractor-trailer operation; delivery driver experience is preferred. Ability to handle freight and perform truck loading and unloading safely. Hazmat (hazardous materials) qualifications are needed only for assignments involving regulated materials. Experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, freight, and automobile transportation is an asset.
