Responsibilities Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Transport refrigerated trailers, hazardous goods, or other specialized freight while maintaining cargo integrity and safety standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including manual handling checks and truck loading/unloading procedures. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation with a focus on route driving. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for Hazmat, tanker, or other specialized loads preferred. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, and tanker trucks. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving. Experience with GPS navigation systems and route planning software to optimize delivery routes. Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations. Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits over the years.
