Driver

Overview As a Driver, you’ll move freight safely and reliably using commercial trucks and tractor-trailers. You’ll plan route driving and over-the-road (OTR) routes with GPS navigation, complete delivery driving, and handle cargo with care. Depending on the assignment, equipment and freight may include refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or automobile transportation. Your impact: Safe, on-time deliveries help customers receive their freight and keep supply chains moving. Responsibilities Operate commercial vehicles, including manual-transmission trucks, in line with assigned routes and delivery requirements. Load and unload freight; secure cargo and perform manual handling as needed. Inspect vehicles and equipment, and report issues that could affect safe operation or delivery. Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations, including applicable hazardous materials and dangerous goods requirements. Maintain accurate delivery and cargo records and communicate route or shipment updates. Qualifications Required: Valid commercial driving credentials appropriate for the vehicle and assignment, and the ability to meet applicable DOT requirements. Required: Safe truck driving and commercial driving practices, including experience with delivery driving or route driving. Preferred: Delivery driver experience, over-the-road driving, and experience handling freight or logistics cargo. Preferred: Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, automobile transportation, and truck loading and unloading. Hazmat (hazardous materials) qualifications are preferred for applicable assignments; knowledge of manual handling and GPS navigation is an asset.
