Drayage Operations Manager

Position: Intermodal Dispatch Manager Job Description: MEMPHIS CITY CARTAGE, LLC is seeking a capable and career-oriented Operation Manager to lead our CHICAGO intermodal operation. The ideal candidate will manage all dispatch related duties include dispatch & drivers. He/she will provide planning for, direction to, and will control available resources associated with safety, compliance, equipment maintenance, operations and driver management. In addition, he/she will provide training, performance feed-back, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary. Core Responsibilities & Duties: Ensure all work is performed according to MCC'S approved procedures, standards, and specifications for intermodal operations Create onboarding strategies for hiring, training and overall employee retention Ensure accurate daily asset reporting: Chassis and Containers Manage and react to day-to-day operational requirements in a professional and timely manner Exceed customer expectations Other duties as assigned Qualifications: CHICAGO Intermodal experience required Working knowledge of Trinium operating system Ability to drive performance of direct reports and lead a team in a lean environment Understand P&L statements and analyze areas for improvement. International/Import experience is a plus Minimum 10 years intermodal experience Minimum 10 years management experience Degree preferred Demonstrated operational management experience of minimum 30 person unit or larger required Knowledge of regional ports/railyards Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of operations Must be flexible to work weekends if necessary Skills: Ideal candidate will possess a can do attitude with a will do work ethic Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment General computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook Excellent communication and problem solving skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
