Role Description The Drayage Broker Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This position is responsible for coordinating and dispatching drayage trucks, assigning loads to carriers or drivers, and ensuring timely pickup and delivery of containers. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring shipment status, communicating with drivers, carriers, and customers, and resolving scheduling or routing issues as they arise. The role also involves maintaining accurate records in transportation management systems, verifying documentation, and supporting billing processes. The Drayage Broker Dispatcher collaborates closely with operations and customer service teams to meet service expectations and uphold safety and compliance standards. Qualifications Experience in transportation, logistics, or drayage operations, with a strong understanding of port, rail, and container movements. Proficiency in dispatching or brokerage activities, including load planning, driver assignment, and route optimization. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams. Ability to use transportation or dispatch software, as well as basic office tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, and phone systems). Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Attention to detail in documentation, record-keeping, and data entry to support accurate billing and compliance. Knowledge of relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and local drayage practices is an asset. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or business is an advantage. Previous on-site dispatch or broker experience in the Brampton or Greater Toronto Area drayage market is beneficial.
