DOT Safety and Compliance Manager

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DOT Safety and Compliance Manager to lead our transportation safety initiatives and ensure full adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. In this vital role, you will oversee compliance programs across our logistics and freight operations, manage regulatory reporting, and implement safety protocols that promote a secure, efficient, and compliant supply chain. Your expertise will help us navigate complex international trade regulations, freight safety standards, and transportation management policies, ensuring our operations meet all federal and global standards. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive DOT compliance programs aligned with federal regulations including FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and other relevant agencies. Ensure adherence to transportation safety regulations, including fleet management, freight handling, and logistics compliance standards across all operations. Conduct regular audits of logistics operations to identify risks, enforce safety protocols, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance with transportation management standards. Utilize Excel data analysis skills for reporting trends, incident tracking, and performance metrics; prepare detailed reports for senior management on compliance status and safety initiatives. Lead training sessions on transportation safety regulations, regulatory compliance management, and best practices for staff involved in freight handling, fleet management, and logistics operations. Must manage driver qualification files for current drivers and potential future drivers Must oversee the equipment fleet maintenance Experience Must have at least 2+ years of management experience Must be knowledgeable in FMCSA regulation Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management with a strong focus on DOT safety compliance. Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory compliance programs within a fast-paced environment involving freight movement and fleet operations. Technical proficiency with global trade management software systems as well as advanced Excel data analysis skills for report writing and trend analysis. Experience in risk assessment, regulatory reporting, and implementing corrective actions to uphold transportation safety standards. Strong communication skills for training staff on complex regulatory topics and preparing comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders.
