DOT Compliance Specialist/Safety Manager

Job Summary STI is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented DOT Compliance Specialist and Safety Manager to lead transportation compliance and workplace safety initiatives. This is a full-time position, on-site Monday thru Friday (and on-call if necessary). We want a proactive and detail-oriented DOT Compliance Specialist/Safety Manager to ensure our transportation operations meet all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. In this vital role, you will oversee compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, manage safety protocols across our fleet and logistics activities, and promote a culture of safety and regulatory excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead compliance initiatives that directly impact operational efficiency and safety performance. Responsibilities · Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations · Manage driver qualification files, hours-of-service records, drug and alcohol testing programs, vehicle inspections, and required documentation · Develop, implement, and improve company safety policies, training programs, and emergency procedures · Conduct safety audits, workplace inspections, incident investigations, and corrective-action follow-up · Track compliance and safety performance, prepare reports, and communicate requirements to leadership and employees. Qualifications · 2 years of experience in DOT compliance, transportation safety, occupational safety, or a related field · Working knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and drug and alcohol testing requirements · Strong organizational, recordkeeping, communication, training, and problem-solving skills · Ability to investigate incidents, identify trends, and implement practical corrective actions · Preferred certification in Safety Supervision or Management, CDL experience a plus, fuel industry experience a plus.
