The Doors Cell Lead owns every input and output of the doors cell: receiving, incoming quality, inventory accuracy, building and customer order allocation. You are the first line of defense, catching bad, short, or late material at receipt before it reaches the cell or a customer order, and the primary point of contact for anything inventory- or order-related coming out of the doors cell. Key Responsibilities Incoming Quality: Inspect inbound doors material at receipt against Tune quality standards (including glass and polycarbonate), and quarantine and log failures before they reach the cell. The Doors Quality Inspector owns in-process and final inspection; this role owns incoming quality. Inventory Accuracy: Plan and execute cycle counts, adjust inventory as needed, root-cause discrepancies, and drive corrective actions. QC Fail Tracking & Inventory Removal: Validate & log all QC-failed inventory by PO (Purchase Order), remove it from inventory, and manage disposal of the defective inventory from the cell. Process & Systems: Standardize and document the QC-fail process, train doors cell associates and hold them to it. Coordinate with the Process Engineering team to refine and update MP’s (Manufacturing Processes) & SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for the cell as needed. Ensure the doors team is utilizing production tools available. Coordinate cross functionally with other cell leads. Order Allocation: Review customer orders for doors on a rolling basis, allocate what is available from inventory, and send required doors to purchasing as needed to close gaps. Manage door orders for accessory and customer care orders. Vendor Coordination: Coordinate delivery dates and schedules with domestic vendors and our powdercoat partner to meet production timelines. Manage communications & scheduling as needed for QC failed door replacements/reshoots Min/Max Planning: Create and maintain min/max inventory levels for doors to drive monthly international restock orders. Receiving & Cell Organization: Receive inbound inventory to the doors cell and keep it clearly labeled and organized. Troubleshooting: Serve as the first point of contact for all inventory and order questions coming out of the doors cell. Inventory Kanban: Collaborate with Inventory team to ensure that Doors associates are trained on Kanban replenishment systems for hardware and door components. Organization: Assist with the organization and layout of the Doors production cell, ensuring inventory is efficiently organized and the production area is structured to support a safe, orderly, and efficient workflow. Optimize material flow throughout the area. Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to associates within the Doors Cell, supporting day-to-day execution, developing technical and operational capabilities, and fostering a high-performing team environment. Lead training efforts to ensure associates are equipped with the skills, processes, and resources needed to succeed. Ensure the Doors Cell maintains a clean, organized, and efficient work environment through consistent standards and accountability. Performance Management: Monitor team performance, reinforce established cycle-time expectations, and proactively address performance gaps to maintain productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
