As a Delivery Driver, you’ll navigate local routes using your personal or company vehicle, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while creating positive experiences for every customer. Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles, including vans, box trucks, or personal vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Load and unload delivery orders efficiently using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary. Plan optimal delivery routes using mobile devices to ensure prompt service and maximize efficiency. Deliver orders directly to customers’ doors, providing friendly and professional customer service throughout each interaction. Maintain accurate delivery logs, complete shift reports, and document any incidents or delays promptly. Follow safe lifting practices when handling food boxes and heavy items to prevent injuries. Assist with warehouse operations when not on deliveries, including inventory management and material handling tasks. Requirements Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations with a focus on manual handling and moving heavy loads. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box trucks is a plus. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently; familiarity with van drivers or courier roles is advantageous. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, route planning, and adherence to DOT regulations for weight handling in the workplace. Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor. Comfort using mobile devices for navigation and communication during routes. Physical ability to lift heavy boxes safely, perform manual handling tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment requiring manual handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks.
