Overview: We are seeking a Distribution Technologist to join our Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team. Reporting to the Asset Manager, T&D, this position is responsible for coordinating customer service requests, supporting distribution projects from planning through construction, preparing estimates and contracts, managing material requisitions, and providing technical and administrative support to T&D Operations. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, Crew Leads, Operations Managers, contractors, engineers, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. Responsibilities: Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by adhering to all Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements. Act as the primary point of contact for customer service requests and Type 5, 6, and 7 distribution projects. Prepare customer contracts, service agreements, project estimates, and material requisitions. Coordinate customer projects through planning, construction, commissioning, and close-out. Manage work order records and customer-billed construction contribution projects. Support engineers and operations staff with basic distribution design, drafting, power flow reviews, and transformer sizing calculations. Assist with inventory planning, material procurement, and logistics coordination. Coordinate easements, rights-of-way, land use approvals, and related documentation. Liaise with regulatory agencies, municipalities, Indigenous organizations, landowners, and utility stakeholders. Prioritize customer and internal work requests with T&D Managers and Crew Leads. Assist with tender preparation, contract administration, project reporting, and progress monitoring. Maintain accurate technical, project, customer, and land-use records. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Completion of a two-year diploma in an Engineering Technology field from a recognized Institute of Technology, and a minimum two years’ experience working with an electric utility required. Equivalencies may be considered. Applicants with education from outside of Canada must provide proof of Canadian education equivalency and/or hold a relevant professional designation or membership recognized in Canada. Above average computer knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Projects, and other related software packages. Good keyboarding skills are essential. Good planning, organizational and communication skills. Ability to isolate problems and suggest alternatives towards solutions Must possess exceptional negotiating skills and perform under public / customer demands and scrutiny. Ability to maintain composure under pressure and retain positive customer relations. Must have conflict resolution skills. Team player, ability to work with minimum supervision Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and single line diagrams Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent is required. Successful candidate must provide satisfactory criminal records check prior to commencing work. Salary for this position ranges from $54.10/hr-$65.72/hr. plus a location allowance of approximately $3,823 per annum.
