Distribution Supervisor

Coordinate loads of trucks with accurate trailer shipments and other parts while maintaining a safe work environment for all department employees. *This job is a combination of indoor and outdoor work regardless of weather conditions. Overtime is a requirement. Essential Duties Actively observe and promote Big Tex safety standards Ensure employees follow all appropriate safety procedures and have all necessary PPE to perform their role in a safe manner Move trailers from staging area without damage Stack & load trailers according to load sheetAssist with parts orders loading process Verify shipment for accuracy Build shipping blocks and dunnage Open and close the shipping office Continually communicate with sales and production to forecast shipments Coordinate and arrange shipments with freight carriers. Process related shipping paperwork with accounting and freight carriers. Develop and follow leader standard work to ensure completion of all daily tasks Continuously improve production processes to increase safety, quality, and efficiency performance through implementation of Lean Principles Be actively involved in the hiring, evaluation, and coaching processes for department employees Foster a healthy relationship with employees by treating them fairly and with respect Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications High School Degree or Equivalent Required Minimum 3-5 years Logistics and Shipping Experience
