Distribution Operations Analyst
Cavender'sOverview The Distribution Operations Analyst transforms distribution, inventory, labor, productivity, and operational data into clear insights and actionable recommendations that improve service, efficiency, accuracy, and execution across the distribution operation. This role develops and maintains reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and analytical tools; identifies trends and root causes; and partners with Distribution leadership and cross-functional teams to solve operational business problems. The Analyst uses data, automation, and company-approved analytical and generative AI tools to improve visibility, support decision-making, and identify practical solutions while maintaining data security, accuracy, confidentiality, and appropriate human review. The Distribution Operations Analyst reports directly to the Vice President of Distribution. Duties and Responsibilities Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values. Partner with Distribution leadership to translate operational questions and business needs into structured analysis, clear insights, and practical recommendations. Analyze distribution center performance using productivity, labor, inventory accuracy, order flow, throughput, service level, receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and other key operating metrics. Identify trends, outliers, risks, and opportunities; perform root-cause and variance analysis to help explain performance drivers and determine where operational focus or corrective action is needed. Build and maintain recurring reports, dashboards, scorecards, forecasts, and planning tools that provide timely visibility into distribution performance and business trends for the Vice President of Distribution and other operational leaders. Support labor and productivity analysis, including workload trends, staffing needs, resource allocation, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency. Perform inventory and process analysis to support inventory integrity, order accuracy, flow of merchandise, and effective use of distribution center resources. Use Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, SQL, and other approved analytical tools to combine data, automate repeatable processes, improve reporting efficiency, and reduce manual work. Assist with the development and maintenance of analytical models and tools used for scenario planning, process improvement, operational initiatives, and evaluation of changes within the distribution center. Use company-approved enterprise generative AI tools to synthesize information, support analysis, compare scenarios, and develop solution options; validate AI-generated outputs against source data and business context before use. Protect confidential and proprietary information and follow company data governance, security, and responsible AI practices when using analytical, automation, and generative AI tools. Partner cross-functionally with Store Operations, Merchandising, Finance, Information Technology, Loss Prevention, and other teams to connect distribution performance with broader business needs and identify opportunities for improvement. Prepare clear reports and presentations that communicate performance, key findings, business implications, and recommended next steps to Distribution leadership. Ensure distribution data, reporting, and analytical outputs are maintained with a high level of accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and appropriate internal controls. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Business Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 1–3 years of experience in operations analytics, distribution, supply chain, business intelligence, financial analysis, or a related analytical role; distribution or retail experience preferred.
