Distribution Manager

Company Overview Position Summary Florida Linen Services is seeking an experienced Regional Distribution Manager to oversee transportation, fleet management, and distribution operations across multiple facilities. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery and collection of healthcare linens while maintaining regulatory compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, logistics, fleet management, and problem-solving skills, with experience managing multi-site transportation operations. Key Responsibilities Transportation Operations: Oversee regional delivery routes, scheduling, dispatching, and distribution activities to ensure timely and reliable service. Team Leadership: Manage, train, and develop transportation supervisors, drivers, and logistics personnel while maintaining performance and accountability standards. Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, fleet utilization, and operational readiness to minimize downtime and control costs. Samsara Monitoring: Utilize Samsara fleet management software to monitor driver performance, vehicle locations, route efficiency, safety violations, and operational exceptions. Investigate concerns and implement corrective actions. Customer Service: Address delivery concerns, resolve service disruptions, and maintain positive relationships with healthcare customers. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations, including proper handling and segregation of clean and soiled healthcare linens. Performance Management: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time deliveries, driver safety, fuel efficiency, maintenance compliance, and customer satisfaction. Budget Management: Manage transportation expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve operational efficiency. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with facility management and leadership to optimize routes, improve productivity, and standardize transportation procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, fleet management, or distribution operations. Previous experience managing multi-site transportation operations and supervising drivers or logistics teams. Experience with Samsara or similar fleet management software preferred. Working knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and transportation safety practices. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing transportation budgets, route optimization, and operational performance. Healthcare laundry, commercial laundry, or related distribution experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel. CDL or relevant transportation certifications preferred. Work Requirements Ability to travel regularly between regional facilities and customer locations. Ability to inspect vehicles, loading areas, and transportation operations. Flexibility to respond to operational issues outside regular business hours when necessary. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
