Distribution Manager

Oversees the team responsible for executing shipping & distribution areas ensuring standards are met safely, efficiently, and effectively. Develops and implements standards and policies designed to ensure a safety culture and continuous improvement through the utilization of Butterball Operation System Solutions (BOSS). Responsible for setting key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring successful execution. Responsible for safety, compliance, up-keep of shipping and distribution areas, and ensuring product is loaded and shipped in designated time frame correctly. Join us in our Purpose and apply for an opportunity today! Key Responsibilities Manages a team of entry to established level individual contributors and/or supervisors. Provides guidance, coaching, and support to ensure successful delivery of department goals. Responsible for HR activities such as hiring, terminations, performance management, goal setting, team member development, scheduling, etc. Enforces and meaningfully contributes to the development of systems, policies, and procedures. Participates in strategic planning for the function. Implements continuous improvement initiatives for distribution processes and systems. Ensures effective use of resources to maximize efficiency and capacity that enables the success of all goals. Creates and directs strategic distribution programs, policies, plans, and processes to ensure compliance with internal standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements (i.e., USDA, OSHA, DOL, EEOC, etc.). Fosters a safe work environment. Oversees and evaluates department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Partners cross-functionally to ensure product flow and safety. Oversees coordination of cooler cleanouts, inventory, FIFO, general up-keep and housekeeping, etc. Oversees investigations (e.g. accidents, employee complaints, etc.), audits, inspections, etc. and is responsible for compliance and resolutions. Guides and facilitates department / facility meetings. Provides consultation and advice to broader leadership team. Gathers and/or reviews metrics. Identifies and resolves gaps in efficiency and quality.
