Distribution Manager

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Position Summary Shandex is seeking an experienced Distribution Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and performance of our warehouse and distribution operation. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for warehouse operations, people leadership, productivity, safety, quality, inventory accuracy, and on-time shipping . The Distribution Manager will oversee warehouse staff through Supervisors and departmental leads while ensuring operational goals and customer service expectations are consistently met. The ideal candidate is a strong warehouse leader who knows how to develop teams, use performance metrics to improve results, maintain high operational standards, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations & Performance · Lead day-to-day warehouse operations through direct oversight of Warehouse Supervisors, departmental leads, and staff. · Manage staffing, facilities, and equipment to support efficient warehouse operations. · Establish and monitor warehouse KPIs and performance metrics, working with the supervisory team to address performance gaps and improve results. · Ensure labour requirements are supported through employee training, onboarding, vacation planning, and cross-training. · Identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, efficiency, and on-time shipping. · Coordinate quarterly and annual cycle counts. People Leadership & Development · Coach and develop Warehouse Supervisors and team members. · Support onboarding, training, and continued development of warehouse employees. · Maintain appropriate attendance, coaching, training, and performance documentation. · Manage coaching and disciplinary documentation when required. · Develop and enforce warehouse policies and procedures in partnership with Warehouse Supervisors. Safety, Quality & Compliance · Identify and implement safety audits and improvements in collaboration with the Health and Safety Manager. · Oversee execution of the warehouse quality program in partnership with the Warehouse Quality Specialist. · Ensure warehouse operations comply with applicable SOPs, quality and regulatory standards, including CFIA standards, AIB audit requirements, and vendor audits . · Monitor equipment safety inspections and required quality and training records. Cross-Functional Leadership · Act as a key liaison between Warehouse Operations and other departments. · Maintain a high level of service for internal and external customers. · Respond to building security and general maintenance requirements as needed, including occasional off-hours requirements. Qualifications & Experience · Previous leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations . · Demonstrated experience leading warehouse supervisors and frontline teams. · Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, labour planning, and warehouse operations . · Experience using warehouse KPIs and operational metrics to drive performance improvements. · Strong people-leadership skills with experience in coaching, training, performance management, and employee development. · Knowledge of warehouse health and safety, quality, SOP, and regulatory requirements . · Experience within a CFIA, AIB, food, CPG, or similarly regulated distribution environment is an asset.
