Distribution Compliance Manager
City of WheelingDistribution Compliance Manager Definition : Under the general direction of the Water Superintendent, aids in administering the planning and management of new compliance programs for Water Distribution required by local, state and federal regulations. Tasks : Oversee compliance activities for Water Distribution projects, including the Lead Service Line Inventory, Valve Exercise Program, and Hydrant Flushing Program. Build partnerships with internal departments and external agencies, and monitor, manage, and report compliance information to the appropriate agencies. Collaborate with department and City staff to achieve program goals. Provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of compliance programs. Responsible for the effective supervision of assigned staff, evaluates resource needs and manages the effective deployment of resources. Organizes and directs the work and activities; recommends and develops corrective action plans as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics: Knowledge of new rules pertaining to water distribution Exceptional computer skills Skill in maintaining records. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workload and managing multiple projects at the same time. Skill in effectively dealing with customers. Skill in learning new computer programs for implementation Materials and Equipment: Automobile Office Equipment Computers Mental and Physical Abilities: Mental work efforts involve the interpretation and application of new rules for water distribution. Physical requirements include the ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on computer programs and the ability to move medium (25-50 lbs) materials occasionally. Working Conditions: Work involves a normal office environment with some work in the field. Minimum Qualifications : High School Diploma; associate degree preferred, or a combination of education and experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and other characteristics may be substituted for the above qualification. Must have a WD license or be able to obtain a WD license within a year of becoming an OIT. Must attend relevant classes for compliance projects in order to understand rules and regulations. Must have a driver’s license.
