Duties Coordinate and schedule freight pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GPS, GIS (Geographic Information Systems), and other tracking tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure timely deliveries. Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette at all times. Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and transportation management platforms to track shipments, update statuses, and maintain detailed logs. Manage shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, shipment scheduling, and coordinating with 3PL providers for seamless logistics flow. Dispatch drivers efficiently by analyzing traffic conditions, fleet availability, and delivery priorities to maximize productivity. Support fleet management activities by monitoring vehicle maintenance schedules and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Assist with supply chain analysis by reviewing transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements or cost savings. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment is preferred. Strong understanding of transportation planning, logistics operations, and supply chain fundamentals. Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly desirable. Knowledge of GPS tracking technology, GIS applications, and fleet management practices. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating strong phone etiquette. Demonstrated analysis skills for evaluating routing options, freight data, and operational metrics. Proficiency in data entry tasks using systems like AS400 or Oracle Transportation Management; typing speed is beneficial. Experience working with freight carriers, 3PL providers, shipping & receiving departments, or in a related logistics role is advantageous.
