Dispatcher (Sunmat)

Coordinate daily dispatch of drivers, batch operators, and loaders based on scheduled pours and customer orders Communicate start times and job assignments to all field personnel in a timely manner Monitor and track driver hours to ensure balanced utilization and compliance with company policy Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, drivers, and plant operations Manage and update the daily schedule in the company's dispatch system (COMMANDseries / Command Alkon) Coordinate rental truck needs and communicate with rental companies as required Track load counts, yardage, and delivery status throughout the workday Communicate any schedule changes, delays, or issues to the appropriate team members promptly Maintain accurate records of daily dispatching activities, driver logs, and pour schedules Assist in the coordination of after-hours deliveries and emergency dispatch as needed Work closely with the Dispatch Manager to optimize scheduling and resource allocation Support the onboarding and training of new drivers regarding start time procedures and communication protocols Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 1-2 years of dispatching, logistics, or operations coordination experience Experience in the concrete, construction, or transportation industry a plus Familiarity with Command Alkon / COMMANDseries dispatch software preferred Skills & Abilities: Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) Strong attention to detail and accuracy Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Physical Requirements: Primarily office/desk environment; prolonged periods of sitting and computer use Must be able to communicate clearly by phone and radio Occasional travel to plant or job site locations may be required The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling and dispatch of ready-mix concrete trucks, batch plant operators, and loaders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of concrete to job sites. This role serves as the communication hub between the batch plants, drivers, customers, and field personnel, and plays a critical role in the daily operations of Sunmat Materials & Equipment.
