Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and organized Dispatcher / Planner to coordinate daily transportation operations. In this role, you will manage freight scheduling, vehicle dispatching, and communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Your expertise in transportation planning, logistics, and technology will ensure our fleet runs smoothly while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations. Duties Coordinate and schedule shipments using transportation management systems such as Mcleod Transportation Management and vehicle dispatch software Communicate effectively via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear phone etiquette with drivers, customers, and team members Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations and optimize routes for efficiency and safety Manage freight documentation, data entry, shipping & receiving records, and compliance with DOT regulations Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues proactively Collaborate with internal teams on logistics planning, road transportation operations, and fleet management strategies Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, incident reports, and operational logs Experience Proven experience in dispatching or transportation planning within a logistics or supply chain environment Familiarity with transportation management systems such as McLeod Transportation Management or similar platforms Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management, and shipping & receiving procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and analysis tasks Excellent communication skills for phone call management and internal coordination Ability to analyze logistical data to improve route efficiency and operational performance Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations to ensure compliance in all dispatch activities Organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting Join our team as a Dispatcher / Planner to play a vital role in keeping our freight moving efficiently!
