Dispatcher & Logistics Coordinator Tarheel Paving & Asphalt Co. Location: Hendersonville, North Carolina Pay: $26.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience Job Type: Full-time About Tarheel Paving Tarheel Paving & Asphalt Co. is a family-owned asphalt paving and heavy-highway contractor serving western North Carolina. We are seeking an organized, decisive and dependable Dispatcher & Logistics Coordinator to manage the daily movement of trucks, drivers and heavy equipment across our projects. This is a fast-paced operational position. The right person will communicate clearly, anticipate problems and keep multiple crews moving without confusion or unnecessary downtime. Position Responsibilities Build and distribute the daily trucking and equipment-movement schedule Assign company trucks, drivers and outside hauling contractors Coordinate trucking requirements with project managers, foremen and asphalt-plant personnel Schedule lowboy moves and the transportation of paving and milling equipment Confirm reporting locations, start times and job requirements with drivers Monitor truck locations, haul cycles, production and job progress throughout the day Adjust the schedule when jobs, weather, equipment or production plans change Serve as the central point of communication for trucking and logistics Locate and schedule additional rental trucks when needed Maintain accurate driver, truck and outside-hauler records Review trucking tickets and reported hours for accuracy Help reduce truck downtime, late arrivals and unnecessary rental costs Maintain a clear schedule for upcoming jobs and equipment moves Qualifications Previous dispatch, transportation, logistics or construction experience preferred Experience with dump trucks, lowboys, asphalt paving, aggregates or heavy construction is strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to make quick decisions and remain calm under pressure Comfortable using computers, mobile applications, GPS systems and spreadsheets Able to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities simultaneously Reliable, punctual and willing to work early mornings when required Understanding of western North Carolina roads and surrounding counties is preferred Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Schedule This is a full-time position based primarily at our Hendersonville operation. Asphalt construction schedules can include early mornings, occasional nights and schedule changes due to weather or project requirements.
