As a leading Global Flight support initiative, Shepherd Aero is looking to expand its dispatch team in the North America region. The dispatch team members are responsible for the Dispatch and coordination of our Global ferry and trip support missions on a 24/7 rotation basis. This position focuses on facilitating arrangements for all our ferry and trip support missions to include flight planning, flight following as well as logistical arrangements in support of the mission. Education: High School/Bachelor's degree Certifications and Licenses : FAA/any ICAO State Flight Dispatcher License desirable but not essential Experience: Previous experience in related field is an asset Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Thorough knowledge of weather theory, charts, and reports in the METAR format including TAF's and NOTAMs, knowledge of airspace systems, preferred and optimum routings. • Must have knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, with an emphasis on Parts 91 operations. Knowledge and experience of dispatching flights under part 91K and 135 operations is an asset. • Prior work experience with an FBO, flight department or airport is an asset. • Proficiency with Google suite of products and is essential. • Ability to quickly adapt to current and new software products is essential. • Proactive attitude, problem solving skills and the ability to operate in a fast paced, 24/7 operation is essential. • Results-driven, resourceful, and professional candidate. Job Description and Responsibilities: • Make a trip itinerary based on the assessment of departure, Enroute and arrival airports for availability, NOTAMs and weather to determine operational suitability. • Obtain the costing and quotes for fuel and handling at origin airport and intermediate transit stops and choose the best option. • Selection of appropriate Crew to perform the Ferry flights. • Provides the highest level of safety and service for all aircraft operations by creating accurate, compliant flight-plans to include routing, weight & balance, and aircraft performance. • Files flight-plans with the Air Traffic Control System. Utilizes all available tools to ensure safety and regulatory compliance are met. Exercises joint release responsibility in conjunction with the flight crew in the interest of safety. • Interact with various FBO’s as well as Customs and ATC in order to coordinate flights. • Interact within the company for Flight Coordination, Maintenance, and compliance to effectively schedule aircraft and crew. • The Dispatcher is responsible to stay informed of the status of all assigned flights during their shift by receiving and processing information, on a continual basis, with air crews during all phases of flight to monitor the status/location and flight following. • Supporting Logistical requirements for aircraft crews such as commercial flights in and out of the field, hotels, ground transportation, and catering. • Collect invoices immediately on completion of the flight from the vendors like FBOs, trip support companies, transport/catering companies, crosscheck and verify the correctness and forward them to the accounts department. • Continuously looks for best practices and ways to integrate process improvement and efficiencies in the job function. • Anticipates and proactively takes action to resolve future trip/dispatch events, situations, and opportunities. • Use of various flight planning and logistics software, Google suite of products. • Other duties as assigned.
