Dispatcher

Job Summary As a Dispatcher, you’ll coordinate vehicle movements and freight activity to keep transportation operations organized and responsive. You’ll use dispatch tools, transportation management systems, and clear communication to connect drivers, customers, and internal teams. Your impact: Accurate dispatching and timely updates help drivers stay coordinated and customers receive dependable service. Responsibilities Assign and track vehicles using vehicle dispatch software, GPS (Global Positioning System), and transportation management systems; Oracle Transportation Management experience is a plus. Coordinate road transportation operations, freight, shipping and receiving, and fleet activity while supporting logistics, supply chain, and transportation planning. Manage multi-line phone systems and phone calls with professional phone etiquette; provide responsive customer service and clear internal communication. Enter and update dispatch records, apply Microsoft Office tools, and use data analysis to identify scheduling or routing issues. Follow applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and use geographic information system (GIS) tools where relevant. Experience Experience in dispatching, transportation management, logistics, or related road transportation operations is preferred; exposure to third-party logistics (3PL) is an asset. Strong communication, organizational, analysis, typing, and data entry skills. Confident phone communication and customer service skills, including the ability to manage multiple calls and priorities. Familiarity with GPS, GIS, fleet management, transportation planning, and transportation management systems is helpful. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Oracle Transportation Management experience is preferred, not required.
