Dispatcher Drayage
Portx Inc.Job Overview As a Dispatcher Drayage, you’ll coordinate the movement of freight between ports, rail terminals, warehouses, and other destinations. You’ll keep drivers, customers, and internal teams aligned by managing dispatch details, tracking loads, and responding promptly to changing schedules. This role suits an organized communicator who can balance customer service with accurate, timely transportation planning. Duties Dispatch drivers and coordinate drayage moves, pickups, deliveries, and shipping and receiving activities. Track vehicles and freight using Global Positioning System (GPS), Geographic Information System (GIS) tools, and vehicle dispatch software; update records in transportation management systems. Manage multi-line phone systems, handle phone calls with professional etiquette, and share clear updates with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Apply Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and road transportation operations procedures while coordinating fleet activity. Essential: Accurate data entry and typing, analysis skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Preferred: Experience with transportation management systems, Oracle Transportation Management, GPS, GIS, vehicle dispatch software, or fleet management. Preferred: Familiarity with shipping and receiving and road transportation operations. Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
