Role Description The Dispatcher role at Kahlon Trucking is a full-time, remote position responsible for coordinating daily trucking operations. This role includes assigning loads, planning routes, and scheduling drivers to meet customer delivery requirements and maximize fleet efficiency. The dispatcher will monitor driver locations and shipment status, respond to issues or delays, and update customers and internal teams as needed. Day-to-day tasks include managing dispatch software and communication tools, maintaining accurate records of trips and deliveries, and ensuring compliance with company policies and transportation regulations. The role also involves collaborating with drivers, customers, and operations staff to resolve problems quickly and support safe, on-time delivery. Qualifications Ability to manage dispatch schedules, plan routes, and coordinate multiple drivers and loads effectively. Strong communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams via phone, email, and messaging tools. Comfort using dispatch or logistics software, GPS tracking tools, and standard office applications. Organizational skills to maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to trips and deliveries. Problem-solving abilities to address delays, emergencies, and changing priorities in a calm, professional manner. Understanding of basic transportation and trucking operations; knowledge of DOT or industry regulations is an asset. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatching is preferred.
