Responsibilities Coordinate dispatch activities by assigning routes and schedules to drivers using transportation management system. Monitor real-time vehicle locations via GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to ensure timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization. Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, clients, and internal teams through multi-line phone systems, maintaining excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Utilize data entry skills to update shipment statuses, delivery logs, and freight information accurately. Manage shipping & receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with safety standards and customer requirements. Analyze transportation data to identify delays or inefficiencies, providing solutions to improve overall logistics performance. Use this information to qualify and hire new drivers when necessary. Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL), warehouse teams, and fleet management to coordinate freight movement seamlessly across the supply chain. Qualifications Proven experience in a transportation/logistics role is a plus. Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret data related to shipping, freight, and logistics operations. Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for effective dispatching interactions. Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing multi-line phone systems under pressure. Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, freight handling, and supply chain processes. Proficiency using Gmail and Microsoft Excel. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
