ConfidentialDescription: Job Summary The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the daily scheduling of traffic control flaggers and ensuring timely communication between field staff, supervisors, and operations. This role supports efficient field operations and helps maintain compliance with safety and staffing requirements. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule flaggers/guardians for daily assignments, ensuring adequate coverage for all job sites. Maintain detailed records of flagger/guardian assignments, work hours, and other relevant details. Report on the performance and availability of flaggers to ensure staffing needs are met. Act as the primary point of contact between flaggers, supervisors and the operations team. Provide clear instructions and updates on project status, safety protocols, and any changes to the schedule or job requirements. Maintain after-hours availability to support business operations, with emergency and urgent operational matters requiring immediate response and action whenever reasonably possible. Serve as an after-hours point of contact for operational issues, staffing changes, schedule adjustments, call-offs, emergencies, and other business-related matters as needed. Maintain possession of and access to the company-issued work phone at all times, including outside of regular business hours, to ensure timely receipt of work-related communications. Respond to work-related inquiries within one (1) hour on workdays and within four (4) hours on weekends unless circumstances beyond the employee's control prevent a timely response. Follow through on after-hours requests and communications to ensure appropriate resolution, staffing coverage, escalation, or completion of assigned tasks within a reasonable timeframe. Communicate proactively regarding the status of after-hours issues until resolved or appropriately transferred. When after-hours work is necessary, non-exempt employees may clock in and record all time worked in accordance with company policies and applicable law. Other job duties as assigned. Regular, reliable on-site attendance. Requirements Pass a drug screen and background check prior to employment. Have a valid driver's license, good driving record and qualify as a company driver. Be a minimum of 21 years of age. Have reliable transportation to and from work. Requirements: Qualifications Previous experience in traffic control or dispatching is preferred but not required. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Proficient using Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail Provide notifications or providing city/county permitting Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations. Knowledge of traffic control safety practices is a plus. Proficient with basic computer programs and dispatching software. Ability and willingness to be available for after-hours communications and operational support, including urgent staffing and scheduling needs. Ability to operate company vehicle with clean MVR Act as primary point of contact for flaggers, supervisors, operations team and customers Physical Requirements Ability to work in an office or field environment. Frequent use of keyboard, mouse, phone and dispatch systems. Ability to lift up to 10-25 lbs. on occasion. Occasional travel may be required to visit project sites.
