Dispatcher / Crew Scheduler (Commercial Moving and Furniture Installation)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, early start (crews roll out between 6:00 and 7:00 AM). Some evening and weekend phone coverage on a rotating basis when jobs run nights or weekends. About Alliance Transfer Alliance Transfer has handled commercial relocations, furniture delivery and installation, warehousing and office decommissioning in the New York metro area since 1986. We run our own trucks and our own crews out of a Newark warehouse and work in occupied Manhattan office buildings for law firms, financial firms, hospitals, universities and furniture dealers. We are a family-owned, non-union shop with a tight office team. You will not be a number here. The job You own the daily crew schedule. Every job on our calendar needs the right number of drivers, helpers, installers and supervisors with the right skills, and every one of our field staff needs enough hours to keep showing up for us. You balance both. You are the person the crews hear from the night before and the first person they call when something goes sideways in the morning. What you will do Build the daily and weekly crew schedule from the job calendar: who, where, what time, what truck Match people to jobs by qualification (CDL, installer certification, IT disconnect and reconnect, supervisor experience, building-specific requirements) Track hours so part-time and full-time field staff hit their minimum weekly thresholds and nobody is buried in overtime without a reason Send next-day call sheets to every crew member and confirm they got them Handle morning no-shows, late arrivals and truck problems: find coverage fast and tell the office Assign vehicles and equipment (vans, straight trucks, dollies, bins, pads) against each day's jobs Keep time sheets accurate and reconcile them against the schedule for payroll Maintain the field roster: availability, certifications, contact info, who is on probation, who is a go-to Sit beside our Warehouse and Dispatch lead and report to the Operations Manager; report job-day issues the same day, every time What we are looking for 2+ years dispatching or scheduling crews for a moving, logistics, delivery, construction or field-service company Comfortable juggling 15 to 25 field staff across several jobs a day Organized and calm when the plan falls apart at 6:30 AM Clear, direct communicator by phone and text; Spanish a plus Solid with Google Workspace (Calendar, Sheets) and quick to pick up scheduling software Knows the NYC and northern NJ area well enough to sanity-check travel times Nice to have: moving or furniture install experience in the field, DOT hours-of-service familiarity Pay and benefits $55,000 to $68,000 a year, based on experience Health and dental insurance Paid time off and holidays Hybrid after six months Early finish most days once the crews are out and the next day is set How to apply Apply through Indeed with a resume.
