Role Description The Dispatcher role at Pahra Transportation Ltd. is a full-time, on-site position based in Halton Hills, ON. The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily truck schedules, assigning loads, and dispatching drivers in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. This role involves monitoring trip progress, updating delivery timelines, and communicating changes or issues to drivers, customers, and internal stakeholders. The Dispatcher maintains accurate records of routes, loads, and driver hours, and uses dispatch and routing software to track and optimize operations. Day-to-day tasks include responding to calls and emails, resolving scheduling conflicts, supporting drivers with instructions or problem-solving, and ensuring compliance with safety and transportation regulations. Qualifications Experience with dispatching, route planning, or logistics coordination in a transportation or related environment. Strong communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and internal teams by phone, email, and in person. Proficiency with computer systems, dispatch or routing software, and basic office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets). Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain organized while handling time-sensitive information and frequent changes. Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety practices, and basic geographic familiarity with Halton Hills and surrounding areas. Problem-solving skills and sound judgment to address route issues, delays, or equipment challenges in real time. Willingness to work full-time on-site with flexibility for shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on operational needs. Previous experience in trucking, freight, or logistics is an asset; relevant education or training in transportation or business is beneficial.
