Dispatcher – Barricade / Traffic Control Operations JAG Public Safety, LLC is seeking a dependable, organized, and highly motivated Dispatcher to coordinate our barricade technicians and daily traffic-control operations. The Dispatcher plays a critical role in keeping our field operations running smoothly. This position is responsible for assigning jobs to technicians, communicating schedule changes, monitoring job progress, and ensuring crews have the information they need to complete each job safely and on time. We are looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly, stay organized, and handle last-minute changes without losing track of the overall schedule. Responsibilities Dispatch barricade technicians and field crews to scheduled jobs throughout the day. Coordinate daily work orders, service calls, setups, removals, deliveries, pickups, and emergency requests. Assign jobs to technicians based on location, availability, workload, and job requirements. Maintain constant communication with technicians regarding job assignments, schedule changes, delays, and customer requests. Monitor technicians throughout the day and keep track of job status and completion. Respond quickly to last-minute schedule changes and urgent service requests. Communicate with customers, contractors, supervisors, and field personnel regarding scheduling and job status. Make sure technicians receive complete and accurate job information, including addresses, contacts, equipment requirements, and special instructions. Verify that completed work orders, lease tickets, required photos, and other job documentation are submitted by technicians before moving on to the next job. Follow up immediately when required information or documentation is missing. Maintain accurate dispatch records and update scheduling systems throughout the day. Coordinate after-hours and on-call assignments as required. Assist management with resolving scheduling conflicts and field-related issues. Help ensure company vehicles, equipment, barricades, signs, cones, and other traffic-control equipment are properly coordinated for scheduled jobs. Communicate professionally with customers and employees at all times. Perform additional dispatch and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous dispatching, scheduling, construction, transportation, traffic-control, or field-service experience is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent phone and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple crews and jobs simultaneously. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where schedules can change throughout the day. Ability to remain professional and solution-oriented when handling urgent situations. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Basic computer skills and ability to learn scheduling and company software. Reliable attendance and punctuality are required. Knowledge of the San Antonio and surrounding areas is a plus. Traffic-control or barricade industry experience is a plus but not required. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of the schedule . You should be comfortable giving clear instructions, following up with technicians, communicating with customers, and making adjustments when plans change. This position requires someone who does not simply assign a job and forget about it. Our Dispatcher is expected to follow each assignment through completion and make sure the required documentation is received. Dependability, communication, urgency, organization, and accountability are extremely important in this position. Schedule Full-Time Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or participation in an after-hours on-call rotation depending on operational needs.
