Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative

Dispatcher - Cartage / Box Truck Company: World Trade Logistics (WTL) - T/A BTX Global Logistics Location: Baltimore (Halethorpe), MD Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $40,000 - $65,000 per year (based on experience) Position Overview WTL / BTX Global Logistics is seeking a highly organized and motivated Cartage Box Truck Dispatcher to coordinate daily cartage operations for a small fleet of local and regional delivery vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling drivers, monitoring routes, maintaining communication with customers and drivers, and ensuring efficient, on-time service. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and possesses strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Key Responsibilities Dispatch and coordinate drivers for daily pickup and delivery routes. Monitor vehicle locations and route progress throughout the day utilizing our Samsara GPS Fleet Tracking platform. Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, delays, and customer requirements. Maintain accurate dispatch records and daily activity logs. Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs. Assist with driver scheduling and timekeeping. Respond to customer inquiries regarding deliveries and service status. Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations. Track and report key operational metrics and delivery performance. Work closely with management to improve route efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) rules and regulations. Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate freight movement, track shipments, and resolve any issues promptly. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of cartage/truck transport dispatching experience Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and vehicle tracking systems for route optimization.
