It directs the daily workflow of delivery drivers by assigning route sequences, communicating schedule changes, and confirming departure and return times. Pre-Employment: Required background check and drug screening upon hire ¦ Data Entry, Computer, and Excel Skills test ¦ May be asked to complete a personality evaluation Employees: Required drug screenings at random POSITION OVERVIEW The Dispatcher is responsible for converting each day’s customer orders into accurate invoices, correct loads, and on-time delivery routes for Matrana’s Produce. The Dispatcher verifies order details, produces invoices and shipping documents, assigns route sequences, and confirms each load against the customer’s purchase order before trucks leave the warehouse. Once routes are underway, the role serves as a primary point of contact for drivers, relays schedule changes to drivers and customers, and documents route issues as they occur. The Dispatcher also reconciles inbound purchase orders against invoices and receiving documents and records product claims and inspection results, which protects billing accuracy and supports timely claim resolution. Because the entire delivery day depends on this work being right the first time, the position directly shapes customer service, driver productivity, and clean accounts receivable. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and composed under time pressure, with the discipline to keep records accurate when several deadlines converge. RESPONSIBILITIES Dispatches delivery drivers and assigns daily route sequences based on order volume, delivery windows, and customer priority. Enters customer orders into the order management system accurately and within established daily cutoff times. Generates invoices, load sheets, labels, and tags for warehouse pulling and loading each morning. Reconciles inbound purchase orders against invoices and receiving documents to confirm quantity, pricing, and product accuracy. Communicates route changes, delivery delays, and service exceptions to drivers and affected customers as they occur. Answers inbound customer calls, takes orders, and resolves order questions or refers them to the Sales team. Documents product claims, shortages, and damages and forwards supporting paperwork for credit processing. Receives and logs inbound purchase orders forwarded from the Purchasing department. Monitors driver check-in and check-out and records departure and return times for each route. Coordinates with the Warehouse team to confirm that pulled orders match the accompanying paperwork before loading. Maintains dispatch, delivery, and claims records in accordance with company retention practices. Escalates service failures, customer complaints, and safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
