Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the efficient movement of freight and vehicles, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups across various locations. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and Vehicle Dispatch Software to optimize routes and delivery times. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms to relay instructions, updates, and resolve issues promptly. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations, ensure route adherence, and make real-time adjustments for efficiency. Manage phone call interactions with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while handling inquiries related to freight, shipping & receiving, or service disruptions. Maintain accurate data entry records for shipments, deliveries, driver logs, and other logistics documentation using systems like SyteLine, AS400, and Oracle Transportation Management. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations during dispatching activities by adhering to safety standards and documentation requirements. Support shipping & receiving operations by coordinating freight movements, verifying delivery schedules, and managing internal communication channels for seamless logistics flow. Requirements Proven experience in road transportation operations or logistics dispatching with familiarity in transportation planning and fleet management. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, and logistics software such as Oracle Transportation Management or AS400. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills for accurate data entry. Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—demonstrating professionalism through phone call management and customer service excellence. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to vehicle dispatching and freight safety standards. Ability to analyze operational data for continuous improvement of dispatch processes. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination is preferred. Strong attention to detail combined with problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues swiftly.
