Your efforts will help ensure passengers receive reliable transportation while supporting drivers in the field. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Key Responsibilities of a Dispatcher: Dispatch Operations Assign trips and transportation requests to drivers. Monitor driver availability and service activity throughout the day. Coordinate schedule changes and service adjustments as needed. Ensure adequate coverage to meet customer demand. Maintain communication with drivers regarding assignments and updates. Driver Support Serve as a primary point of contact for drivers during their shifts. Provide assistance with trip information, route guidance, and service changes. Help resolve operational issues and escalate concerns when necessary. Communicate important information clearly and efficiently. Support drivers in delivering safe and reliable service. Service Coordination Monitor active trips and transportation schedules. Respond to delays, service interruptions, and scheduling conflicts. Help maintain on-time performance and service reliability. Work closely with operations teams to address customer and driver needs. Support daily service goals and operational standards. Administrative Support Maintain accurate dispatch records and trip documentation. Update operational information in company systems. Assist with reports, data entry, and schedule tracking. Ensure records are complete, accurate, and up to date. Qualifications of a Dispatcher: Required High School Diploma or GED. Strong communication and customer service skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office. Reliable attendance and professional work ethic. Preferred Previous experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, scheduling, or customer service. Experience working with GPS, dispatch software, or fleet management systems. Knowledge of transportation operations is a plus.
