Role Description The Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Gardena, CA, responsible for coordinating daily container movements and driver assignments. In this position, the dispatcher will schedule and dispatch drivers, track shipments, and communicate load details, route changes, and time-sensitive updates to drivers and customers. The role includes monitoring delivery status, updating internal systems, resolving scheduling conflicts, and responding to delays or service issues. The dispatcher will collaborate with terminal staff, warehouse teams, and management to ensure loads are prioritized correctly and completed on time. This position also involves maintaining accurate records, following company and regulatory procedures, and supporting a safe and efficient operating environment. Qualifications Experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics coordination, or a related operations role. Strong communication skills, including clear phone and email communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. Proficiency with dispatch software, transportation management systems, and basic computer applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets). Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail in scheduling and record-keeping. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and solve problems quickly and calmly. Knowledge of local and regional routes, ports, and container yard operations is preferred. Understanding of basic transportation regulations and safety practices is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or supply chain is a plus. Willingness to work designated shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on operational needs.
