Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate the movement of freight, manage vehicle dispatching, and ensure timely delivery of goods across various locations. Duties Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of vehicles, drivers, and freight to meet delivery deadlines and operational goals Use transportation management systems (TMS) and vehicle dispatch software to track shipments, update statuses, and optimize routes Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to ensure accurate navigation and route planning Manage phone call inquiries related to freight status, delivery issues, or scheduling adjustments with professionalism and clarity Enter data accurately into logistics databases, including shipping details, delivery times, vehicle logs, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT regulations Collaborate with supply chain partners such as third-party logistics providers (3PL) to coordinate shipments and resolve logistical challenges efficiently Skills Strong knowledge of road transportation operations, fleet management, and shipping & receiving procedures Proficiency in transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms Experience with vehicle dispatch software and GPS tracking tools for real-time monitoring of fleet movements Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone etiquette for managing multi-line systems effectively Ability to analyze logistical data using analysis skills to improve dispatch efficiency and reduce costs Familiarity with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations to ensure compliance during all dispatch activities Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Competence in Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and correspondence purposes Knowledge of logistics concepts including freight management, supply chain coordination, and transportation planning Strong typing skills for efficient data entry along with attention to detail for accuracy in recordkeeping Join us as a Dispatcher where your organizational prowess, communication expertise, and passion for logistics will drive our success forward.
