Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Dispatcher to join our transportation and logistics team. Schedule: M-F 7 AM - 3:30 PM Overtime when needed. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software to optimize routes and delivery times. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette. Monitor GPS and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to track vehicle locations, analyze routes, and adjust plans as needed for efficiency. Maintain accurate data entry records related to shipments, deliveries, driver logs, and freight details in logistics databases like Oracle Transportation Management. Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards during dispatching activities. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, coordinate freight pickups and drop-offs, and oversee fleet management operations. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly, resolving issues efficiently, and maintaining positive communication with all stakeholders. Requirements Proven experience in road transportation operations, logistics, or supply chain management. Strong proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), vehicle dispatch software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data entry tools. Knowledge of GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and fleet management practices. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for phone call management, internal communication, and customer service interactions. Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures along with freight handling processes. Understanding of DOT regulations related to vehicle operation and transportation safety standards.
