Dispatcher

Job Title: Dispatcher A Dispatcher at America Ambulance Service, Inc., is responsible for call intake of emergency and non-emergency transportation from various sources, directing callers to appropriate departments, and assisting field personnel. Responsibilities Receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls and record significant information Use radio, phone or computer to send crews to appropriate locations Prioritize calls according to urgency and importance Enter data in computer system and maintain logs and records of calls, activities and other information Monitor the status of all field personnel Evaluate incoming calls to determine appropriate dispatching unit and transmitting information and messages upon request and/or according to established procedures Provide information and assistance for customer service inquires as needed Adhere to all company policies and procedure Maintains privacy of protected health insurance (PHI) in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in English (oral and written) Tech-savvy with medical knowledge Fast typing with experience in data entry Ability to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone Ability to prioritize, communicate and work under high-stress conditions Manage multiple tasks simultaneously Active listener with communication skills Sound judgement and critical thinking High school diploma or equivalent We have 2 Dispatch position available- 1 full time, overnight position and 1 part time. Weekend shifts- hours vary by days, afternoon and overnight shift.
