Dispatcher

Job description: We are seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our Dispatch team here at Checker transportation. We are the largest and longest operating transportation company in Michigan, with roots to the great City of Detroit dating back to 1921. We are looking for a full-time dispatcher to assist with incoming calls and utilizing our dispatch software to distribute the trips accordingly. We are looking for someone who has past experience with high call volume and multi-tasking while talking on the phone. Requirements for the position include: Prior customer service and/or dispatching experience strongly preferred Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with scheduling rides Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 100+ call intake daily, must be comfortable with answering a high amount of calls day in and day out Proficient typing and computer skills; comfortable using multiple software applications Ability to read maps and use online mapping tools Accurately enter trip details and customer information in real-time Communicate clearly and efficiently with drivers and fellow dispatchers Assist with coordination between contract accounts and drivers as needed Multitask effectively in answering phone calls in fast-paced setting at times Skills: Knowledge of the City of Detroit and Metro Detroit area Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for effective decision-making. Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with GPS technology for route optimization.
