Dispatcher

Position Summary Steve C. Davis is looking for a dependable and organized Dispatcher to join our transportation operations team. The Dispatcher will coordinate drivers, loads, routes, and daily transportation activities while maintaining strong communication with drivers, management, customers, and other departments. Key Responsibilities Dispatch drivers and assign loads based on operational needs. Monitor driver schedules, routes, and load progress. Maintain regular communication with drivers throughout their shifts. Coordinate pickups, deliveries, and changes to daily schedules. Monitor driver Hours of Service and assist with HOS compliance. Track equipment, trailers, and load locations. Communicate delays, breakdowns, service issues, and other operational concerns to management. Work closely with Safety, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Driver Development. Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation. Respond promptly to driver and customer calls and messages. Assist with resolving operational issues and finding solutions when plans change. Follow company policies, customer requirements, FMCSA regulations, and applicable transportation standards. Qualifications Previous dispatching or transportation experience preferred. Trucking, logistics, or fleet operations experience is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to make decisions under pressure. Strong computer skills and ability to learn transportation software. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service preferred. Dependable, professional, and willing to take initiative.
