Dispatcher

Job Summary As a Dispatcher, you’ll coordinate vehicle assignments, freight movement, and shipment updates to keep road transportation operations organized and responsive. You’ll use dispatch and transportation management systems to track vehicles, manage phone calls, enter accurate data, and connect drivers, customers, and internal teams. Your work supports reliable logistics and clear communication across the supply chain. Responsibilities Dispatch vehicles and coordinate routes using GPS, vehicle dispatch software, and transportation planning tools; use geographic information systems (GIS) when available. Manage multi-line phone systems, respond to calls with professional phone etiquette, and provide timely customer service. Track freight, shipping and receiving activity, and fleet status in transportation management systems; Oracle Transportation Management experience is relevant. Complete accurate data entry and records using Microsoft Office; share updates through clear internal communication. Support road transportation operations and third-party logistics (3PL) coordination while following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Qualifications Strong communication, phone communication, organizational, typing, and analysis skills. Experience with dispatching, transportation management, logistics, freight, or fleet management is valuable. Familiarity with supply chain processes, transportation management systems, GPS, GIS, and vehicle dispatch software is preferred. Customer service experience and confidence managing phone calls are important; knowledge of shipping and receiving is an asset. Ability to use Microsoft Office and maintain accurate records; Oracle Transportation Management experience is a plus.
