Role Description The Dispatcher role at Ro Trans Freight LLC is a full-time, on-site position based in Chicago, IL. The Dispatcher will coordinate daily freight operations, including assigning loads, scheduling drivers, and planning routes to meet delivery timelines. This role involves monitoring shipments, updating drivers on changes, and resolving issues such as delays, route adjustments, or equipment needs. The Dispatcher will communicate regularly with drivers, customers, and internal teams to provide status updates and ensure accurate documentation of each shipment. The role also includes maintaining dispatch records, using transportation management or dispatch software, and supporting continuous improvement in service quality and efficiency. Qualifications Experience in dispatching, transportation, or logistics operations, with the ability to plan routes and schedule drivers effectively. Proficiency using dispatch or transportation management software, as well as general computer skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, data entry). Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with drivers, clients, and internal teams in a clear, professional manner. Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple shipments, handle unexpected issues, and prioritize urgent tasks. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records, documenting loads, and following company procedures and safety standards. Ability to work on-site in Chicago, IL, in a fast-paced environment, including occasional extended hours based on operational needs. Previous experience in freight, trucking, or logistics dispatch is preferred; familiarity with regional routes and regulations is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or education in logistics, transportation, or related fields is a plus.
