Dispatch & Operations Team Lead MKW Logistics Group - Arnprior, ON Job Description MKW Logistics Group is looking for a dependable, organized and hands-on Dispatch & Operations Team Lead to support our daily delivery and warehouse operations. Based in Arnprior, MKW provides warehousing and delivery services throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario, including beer, wine, spirits and general freight. This position acts as MKW’s dispatcher, leads the driver team, organizes the morning sort and loading process, and assists wherever needed throughout the day. We’re looking for someone who can give clear direction, manage changing priorities and work alongside the team to keep freight moving accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Coordinate daily dispatch, including driver assignments, route coverage, pickups and deliveries. Communicate delivery instructions, customer receiving hours, special requirements and schedule changes to drivers. Monitor delivery progress and adjust daily plans to address delays, failed deliveries, vehicle issues or changing priorities. Act as the main operational contact for drivers throughout the day, providing clear direction and timely support. Communicate delivery updates and service issues to customers, the office and management as required. Organize the morning sort, ensuring freight is separated correctly by route and ready for loading. Work alongside drivers and warehouse staff to pick orders, sort freight, and load and unload vehicles. Check that orders, quantities and paperwork match before vehicles leave the warehouse. Investigate shortages, picking errors and delivery discrepancies, and communicate verified findings. Ensure failed deliveries and operational exceptions are documented accurately and followed up. Verify corrected orders and redeliveries before release, including confirming receiving arrangements when reattempting a failed delivery. Assist with receiving freight, putting away inventory, processing returns and maintaining warehouse organization. Complete deliveries, pickups or route coverage as needed. Reinforce safe working practices, proper freight handling and professional customer service. Keep management informed of staffing, vehicle, freight or service issues requiring attention. Key Requirements Experience in dispatch, delivery, transportation, warehousing or a similar operation. Previous team lead or supervisory experience is an asset. Strong organization skills and the ability to coordinate multiple drivers and priorities. Clear, professional communication with drivers, customers and office staff. Confidence giving direction, following up and holding team members accountable. Ability to stay calm, make practical decisions and resolve issues as they arise. A commitment to verifying information and maintaining accurate records. Willingness to work alongside the team and assist wherever needed. Valid Ontario G driver’s licence and a clean, insurable driving record. Comfort using dispatch software, delivery apps, email and basic computer systems. Ability to safely perform repetitive lifting, loading and unloading, including handling cases and kegs with appropriate equipment. Reliable transportation to our Arnprior location. Working Conditions In-person position based at our Arnprior warehouse, supporting deliveries throughout Ottawa and Eastern Ontario. Early morning starts, with working hours based on operational requirements. A combination of dispatch coordination, warehouse work and driving as needed. Physical duties include loading, unloading and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Daily responsibilities may change based on freight volumes, staffing and delivery needs.
