Dispatch Manager

Position Overview BinDumped is the largest independent hauler in the Austin market, known for unmatched customer service, and we are expanding rapidly across Houston. Currently we have over 700 dumpsters and 14 trucks in our fleet. We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Dispatcher & Logistics Manager to take full ownership of our daily roll-off dispatching. Working side by side with the business owners, you will play an active role in forecasting needs, improving workflows, implementing software and planning for the company’s future. In this role, you will act as the operational air traffic controller between our drivers on the road, disposal facilities, and commercial and residential job sites. This is a fast-paced, multi-screen environment where routes, urgent swap-outs, and customer requests evolve continuously. Key Responsibilities Dynamic Route Optimization & Scheduling: Build, monitor, and continuously re-optimize daily routes across Austin and Houston. Adjust schedules on the fly to navigate Austin and Houston traffic, landfill turnaround times, sudden cancellations, and urgent same-day drop-offs or swaps. Real-Time Driver Communication & Oversight: Maintain continuous communication with drivers via phone, text, and dispatch platforms. Provide precise drop placement instructions, gate codes, and access notes. Monitor live GPS tracking to ensure route completion and driver safety. Customer Service Excellence: Serve as a reliable, professional liaison for contractors, homeowners, and commercial job site managers. Proactively communicate delivery/pickup windows, resolve placement or site-access challenges, and address property or service concerns swiftly. End-of-Day Reconciliation & Asset Tracking: Conduct daily closeout processes by verifying dump tickets, recording scale disposal weights, tracking container inventory, and ensuring every turn and haul is properly logged and billed. Multi-Screen Tech Operations: Seamlessly manage operations across multiple monitors running specialized routing platforms, live GPS maps, messaging channels, and email simultaneously. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dispatching or fleet logistics experience. Direct background in roll-off dumpsters, waste management, aggregate, or construction delivery is a major plus. Bilingual Proficiency: Bilingual (English / Spanish) is strongly preferred to ensure seamless, direct communication with our driving team and field crew. Geographic Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Austin-area roadways, highway networks, and traffic patterns; familiarity with the Greater Houston metro area is a significant advantage. Technical Fluency: Comfortable operating across multiple screens with logistics/routing/GPS software (e.g., Docket, BoxTracker, DRS, or related waste-management systems). Decisiveness Under Pressure: Proven ability to stay calm, focused, and adaptable in a high-volume, constantly shifting environment. Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Schedule & Work Environment Setting: Fast-paced dispatch office with steady phone, radio, and text communication. Hours: Full-time schedule requiring early morning starts to dispatch the fleet, along with rotating or scheduled Saturday morning coverage in the future. Independent: Must be able to work independently without supervision and large office space. Can work remotely if needed. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $65,000+ annually, commensurate with experience. Health Coverage: Partially Paid company health insurance.
