Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and manage our commercial fleet and CDL drivers. This role involves ensuring efficient transportation operations, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will work closely with management to oversee driver training, accident reporting, and onboarding processes. The Truck Dispatcher is a critical link in ensuring timely deliveries and safe transportation practices, starting early each morning to prepare for dispatch at 4:00 AM. Duties Organize and manage trucks, drivers, and equipment prior to early morning dispatches, ensuring readiness before 4:00 AM. Dispatch trucks efficiently according to delivery schedules, road conditions, and customer needs. Communicate regularly via phone and internal channels to coordinate daily operations with drivers, management, and other team members. Utilize Microsoft Office applications and Google Docs for documentation, scheduling, and reporting purposes. Work directly with management on accident reporting, both internally within the company and externally with relevant authorities or partners. Collaborate with management on ongoing safe-driving training programs for drivers, monitoring their performance and scoring. Assist in onboarding new drivers by providing necessary information and support during their integration into the team. Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations related to road transportation operations. Maintain organizational records related to driver performance, training, accidents, and other operational data. Qualifications Proven experience or familiarity with road transportation operations and dispatching roles. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills for effective phone communication and internal coordination. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Docs for documentation purposes. Customer service orientation to handle driver inquiries and external communications professionally. Knowledge of DOT regulations governing commercial transportation is preferred. Ability to work early mornings consistently, arriving on site before 4:00 AM to prepare for dispatch activities.
